QUICK Instructions
Set Inertia Wheels Output to Training
Set Inertia Wheels Signal Path to Wireless
Connect Receiver to Computer via USB Cable with data pins
Open IW Desktop Link 2
Open the Training App after everything else.
Full Instructions
Step 1
Check Wheels and Receiver firmware
With the Receiver powered on, use Menu > System > Firmware to check to make sure the MCU and RX firmware versions are the same and a correct version:
Inertia Wheels MAX should be > 2.0.2
Inertia Wheels Brushless with SN < 11000 should be > 1.0.4
Inertia Wheels Brushless with SN >= 11000 should be > 1.21.
Download the proper firmware if needed.
Always install new firmware on both the Wheels and Receiver!
Step 2
Download IW Desktop Link
If you use a PC or Mac with OS 10.X, you will need the driver. Mac 11 does not need the driver.
Always reboot computer after installing the driver.
Step 3
Setup Inertia Wheels
Set Menu > Output > Remote Head to Training (or IW-VP).
Set Menu > Output > Signal Path to Wireless.
Step 4
Connect Receiver
Connect the Receiver to the computer.
The LED must go blue.
Troubleshooting This step
If the LED light is not blue, these are the most common issues:
The Wheels (“MCU”) and Receiver (“RX”) are not on the same firmware version. Check in Menu > System > Firmware.
The Signal Path is not set to Wireless. Set with Menu > Output > Signal Path: Wireless.
There is a System Report Error in the Wheels. Check Menu > System > Report for red. If you see red lines, reboot and hold objects clear of wheels during calibration. If the errors persist, contact Support with the chat bubble.
Step 5
Open IW Desktop Link 2 App
Open IW Desktop Link 2 App
Once you see “Link Active” you can open the Training App.
Previous manual setup instructions.
If you do not have the new IW Desktop Link 2 App, download it.
Troubleshooting this step
If the LED light is blue on the Receiver, but the App does not say Link Active, the most common issues:
The Driver is not installed and needs to be.
The USB cable is a charging cable and does not have data pins.
