McDonald's Brazil

Director & Cinematographer: João Papa

Camera Operator: Sandro Galvão

When Brazilian camera operator Sandro Galvão needed to film several actors jumping off a high dive into a metaphorical pool of cheese dip for McDonald’s, he knew it all came down to precision and control. That’s why he turned to the Inertia Wheels.

Check out what Galvão had to say about the project:

This commercial was almost entirely special effects. We had people making jumps—in swimming pools or on mattresses—all shot in high speed, so we knew we needed more precise control to track the jumps accurately.

We used a Jimmy Jib, MōVI XL, and Inertia Wheels. We had very few camera moves, basically following people’s jumps, but we used the wheel’s limit and speed controls to keep up with them.

The Inertia Wheels helped us a lot with this commercial. They gave us the precision and ease of control with the MōVI XL that we needed. As a camera operator, I was surprised at how easy it was to access the menus and make the necessary changes for each scene quickly and intuitively. I was glad to have them on this project!
